Menopause is a natural stage in a woman’s life when menstrual periods permanently stop, marking the end of reproductive years. It is officially diagnosed after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual cycle. Most women experience menopause between the ages of 45 and 55, though it can occur earlier or later.

It happens because the ovaries gradually produce less estrogen and progesterone, the hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle. As hormone levels decline, women may experience symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, sleep disturbances, vaginal dryness, and reduced energy.

Menopause is a normal biological transition, not a disease, but proper lifestyle support, nutrition, and medical guidance can help manage symptoms and maintain overall health during this phase.
